Key takeaways
- Starter is $19/user/mo or $15 annual ($180 billed). Business $33/$23 ($276). Scale $47/$35 ($420). Extra numbers $5. 7-day trial. Checked Oct 6, 2026 on quo.com/pricing.
- Score 7/10, Situational: shared numbers and SMS on phones you already carry, plus Sona AI receptionist with 1,000 included credits (~10 calls).
- Best for a Jobber plumber or Clio law firm that wants one shared SMS inbox. Not a Dentrix dentist. Not a Mindbody salon.
- Sona paid packs $25 / $49 / $99 / $199 after the included credits (~40 / 100 / 250 / 600 calls). Overages off by default.
- Catch: no Counter & Crew affiliate checkout yet (buy on quo.com). Do not move your only Google/van number onto Quo until you have a spare.
How we checked this
We opened quo.com/pricing, quo.com/sona, and Quo support Sona pricing on October 6, 2026. Plan and credit numbers below match those pages. We did not port a live business number for this refresh. The verdict is for owners comparing shared business phones and light AI answering, not UCaaS.
Quo: Situational
Two techs, one Google number on the van wrap, and a shared SMS thread that actually gets answered. That is the job Quo sells. It used to be called OpenPhone. Same company (OpenPhone Technologies, Inc.), same app, openphone.com still sends you to quo.com.
We score it 7/10, Situational. It can work. Read the catch before you put the only public line on it.
What it actually does
Quo is a per-user cloud phone: shared numbers, shared SMS inbox, recording, on the phone already in the truck. Auto-replies is missed-call SMS on every paid plan (one-way template, three-hour cooldown). That is not Podium.
Sona is the named AI receptionist. It answers, qualifies, texts a booking link, transfers. Included pack is 1,000 credits, about 10 calls a month (100 credits per call; sub-15-second calls do not count). Paid tiers: $25 / 4,000 credits (~40 calls), $49 / 10,000 (~100), $99 / 25,000 (~250), $199 / 60,000 (~600). Overages are off by default. It is not voicemail transcription. It is not Ruby.
No reviews SKU. No listings SKU. No website chatbot. No 911. Native Jobber and Clio start at Business. Housecall Pro, Dentrix, and Mindbody are none. US and Canada calling and SMS are unlimited under Fair Use (no autodialers or cold calling). 10DLC is about $19.50 one-time plus $1.50 to $3 a month.
Counter & Crew does not have a live affiliate link for Quo yet. Until that deal clears, we point buy traffic at the vendor site only. If you would rather not become the phone person, we wire the stack nationwide once through start or installs.
Buy it
Buy Starter if two people share one line and SMS is enough. Live list on quo.com/pricing, October 6, 2026: $19 a user monthly, $15 annual ($180 billed). Business is $33 monthly, $23 annual ($276): that is the floor for IVR, auto-recording, analytics, Jobber, and Clio. Scale is $47 monthly, $35 annual ($420). Extra numbers $5. Trial is 7 days with no SMS. Inviting two techs during trial bills seats.
Buy it if you run Jobber and you can live with hold risk on the Google number. Buy it for a small Clio firm that wants one shared inbox.
Skip it
Skip it if you are a dentist (Weave). Skip it if you are a salon on Mindbody (Podium). Skip it as Dialpad. This is not UCaaS. A two-seat sales dialer is JustCall, a skip for most trade businesses.
The catch
The reason not to buy is the number on the truck. BBB under the OpenPhone company name has a long trail of holds, 10DLC, port-out, and account-lock complaints. When that line is on the van wrap and Google, a lock is not a support ticket. It is a dark phone. Do not move the only public line onto Quo until you have a spare. Pattern to expect: no refunds, Order Forms auto-renew, number retention around 60 days on the FAQ (ToS and support have disagreed on shorter windows before).
