Plumbers

Best AI receptionist for plumbers

For a one-truck plumber, the cheap pickup is Rosie at $49 a month if 250 minutes covers the month and you will pay Scale when you actually need booking. Frontdesk is $99 for Housecall Pro shops that stay near 200 minutes. Smith.ai is $150 a month for 75 calls and a North America human safety net, built for law first, usable if the job is high-ticket. Weave at $199 is a dental PBX. Ruby at $250 is a live US receptionist for low-volume offices, not dispatch. Numa is car dealers.

The call that walks

You were under a sink. The slab leak rang the shop line. Three rings, then nothing. They called the next plumber on Google. That is the shopping job on this page. Not a dental phone. Not a law-firm desk.

An AI receptionist for plumbers has to pick up, ask for address, whether water is still running, and whether they can shut the main. Then it has to put that job somewhere you already open. A booked call that never hits Jobber or Housecall Pro is a nicer voicemail.

Most shops that buy this aisle also need missed-call text-back for the rings nobody can take with wet hands. There is no plumber missed-call trade page. That depth lives on missed-call text-back. Pickup and text-back are different jobs. The plumber receptionist guide walks that fork.

What the live cards actually say

Rosie Professional is $49 a month for 250 minutes. That plan texts a booking link. It does not sit on Google Calendar. Calendar booking and live transfer start at Scale, $149. English and Spanish are on every plan. The review is dated August 27, 2026. Situational. Crew score 7/10.

Frontdesk Business-in-a-Box is $99 a month for 200 voice minutes, then $0.25 a minute. Housecall Pro and Google Calendar are native. The Jobber help article is a 404. AI-only. Callers who demand a person hang up. Situational. Crew score 6/10. Aimed at Housecall Pro plumbers that stay near 200 minutes.

Smith.ai AI Pro is $150 a month for 75 calls with a North America human safety net, built for law first. Usable here if the job is high-ticket and you want a person when the bot should not have the call. Human Starter is $300 for 30 calls. Do not buy Rosie Professional thinking you bought that net.

OpenPhone starts at $19 a user a month. Missed-call SMS sits on paid plans. Native Jobber sits on Business and up when you want the SMS inbox next to the schedule. That is the shared shop line, not a dispatch bot.

What we will not pretend

Weave at $199 is a dental PBX. Numa is car dealers. Aircall and JustCall are sales-desk VoIP per seat. Those cards stay on the table so you can see the skip. They are the wrong aisle for a truck.

We did not invent a named plumber reviewer for Frontdesk. The live review says zero named plumber, dentist, salon, or HVAC independent reviews. G2 on that card is 4.8 from 10 on a Wayback grab from August 23, 2026. That is the footprint. Not a storm-week case study.

Rosie emergency-call scorecard is weak. Do not buy it if a 2 a.m. emergency needs a person. That is still Smith.ai at $150 or Ruby at $250. We print that on the Rosie card. We are not adding a lab timing we never measured.

Shop OS is a different aisle

Jobber Core is $49 a month cash for quotes, schedule, and invoices. Receptionist is a $29 add-on, 30 conversations, then $0.79. Do not buy Plus at $499 to get a greeter.

Housecall Pro Basic is $79 and the review ask is already in the box. CSR AI is a named paid add-on with no public dollar. If you are a plumber, do not use the generic $189 / $329 Housecall Pro table. Mechanical Package is Essentials $229 individual / $299 teams and MAX $349 individual / $649 teams. That cash lives on the plumber shop OS page.

Fix the phone first if calls miss. Fix the OS first if calls book and never land. Most one-truck shops need both. Method and money sit on What we test.

If you want it installed

Find a crew on the installer map. Matches come from a declared specialty or a named tool. We do not invent agencies. Counter & Crew Installs is the house pin, listed plainly, remote in all 50 states.

Done-for-you packages live on /installs/. Missed-Call Recovery is $1,500 plus $99 a month care. Full Front Desk is $3,500 plus $199 a month care. Scores publish before we sell an install of that tool.
