Frontdesk at $99 is aimed at Housecall Pro HVAC that stay near 200 minutes. Native booking is Housecall Pro and Google Calendar. Jobber is not native. Emergency-call scorecard is weak. The review says do not buy it if a botched 2 a.m. emergency needs a person.

Signpost is $199 and skip for most. Cancel terms matter. The review names a BBB April 2025 roofing complaint where a receptionist scheduled lawn mowing. That is a published complaint on the card, not a lab score.

Ruby at $250 is a live US person for low-volume offices, not a storm-week board. Smith.ai at $150 for 75 calls if the job is high-ticket and you want a human net. Weave at $199 is a dental PBX. Numa is dealers.

Text-back is part of this buy

A missed-call event can trigger SMS within seconds when the phone provider supports it. That line is already on the HVAC workflow guide. It is a product-design claim. It is not a Counter & Crew stopwatch.

The first text should ask cooling or heat, ZIP, urgency (no cool, no heat, leak, maintenance), and a callback window. A thank-you text with no intake is noise on their phone. Qualified replies should become a Jobber or Housecall Pro note you can open Monday morning.

OpenPhone starts at $19 a user a month, with missed-call SMS on paid plans. Podium is Custom plus a 12-month comms contract. Sendblue AI Agent is $100 a month per line on the public card when reply rate matters more than a green bubble.

Mechanical Package is not the $79 card

Housecall Pro will quote HVAC Mechanical Package money. Essentials is $229 individual / $299 teams. MAX is $349 individual / $649 teams. Jobber Core is still $49 cash. Do not clone the plumber shop-os page and call it HVAC.

NiceJob at $75 is the Jobber or Housecall Pro review drip after the job. That is a different aisle. Reviews still matter. They do not pick up the no-cool.
