What it actually does
CallTrackingMetrics, also branded CTM, is call tracking and marketing attribution. You buy tracking numbers, put them on ads and pages, and see which source made the phone ring. Dynamic number insertion (DNI) swaps the number a visitor sees so paid search and landing pages get credit. Call recording is included on every plan. Form tracking, conversation intelligence, and agency sub-accounts show up as you move up the ladder. Marketing Pro lists 3,000 transcribed minutes and HIPAA-ready features on Pro and above.
It is not your main business phone system, and it is not a human answering desk. VoiceAI on the pricing page is an AI voice assistant at $0.12 a minute for inbound answer, qualify, and route when staff are unavailable. Agent Bundles start at $99 a month for bundled voice, text, a number, and chat. Softphone and smart dialer sit on Sales Engage. If you wanted a live receptionist brand, that is a different aisle: Moneypenny, Ruby, or PATLive.
Who should buy it
Buy it
Buy it if you run multi-source ads (Google, LSA, offline) and need attribution with a public plan fee. Agencies that want sub-accounts and white-label options fit Pro and Sales Engage. Buy Sales Engage if outbound dialing and VoiceAI matter in the same stack. The FAQ says you can cancel in the software and port numbers out with no extra fee.
The catch
The reason not to buy is the empty plan. Unlike CallRail Lead Tracking at $55 a month with 250 local minutes and 5 numbers on our card, CTM Lite is $79 before any number or minute. Our math: Lite plus one US local number at $2 is $81 a month before talk time. That is our addition, not a CTM package price. Local minutes on their comparison table are labeled volume-based with no single public rate printed beside that row. If you only needed light Google Ads proof, CallRail’s included bucket is the simpler bill. If you wanted the phone answered by a person or a flat AI receptionist, skip the tracking aisle.
